About Project

This project responds to this urgent need to create a reliable, comprehensive, accessible, and durable platform for the production and communication of women’s individual and collective memory of the present. By combining methods of social research, activism, and journalism, we will create a web-based platform that will contain open-access digital archives of women’s first hand lived stories; diaries produced by women; newsletters and essays, and theme-based podcast programs about pressing issues for women of Turkey.

This platform will make a transformative intervention in women’s rights activism and resilience in Turkey in four main ways: it will produce an extensive documentation of women’s experiences under authoritarian regime for a fact-based and data-driven feminist activism; it will democratise this knowledge by storing in an open-access digital archive; it will form a community of women and safe space where they can speak, listen and learn from each other; it will produce journalistic content that will raise consciousness and inform public opinion about women’s problems in contemporary Turkey.
